Sylwia Tanska

When people ask me how long I have been an artist, I say ‘since the day I was born. My father was the first to tell me that I have a talent I should work on, so in 1996 I went to boarding art school in Suprasl, Poland, and it was the best 5 years of my life.

Suprasl is a truly magical place, and it was there that I found myself as a young artist.  By the age of 21, I had arrived in the UK and for the past 20 years, I have been working in hospitality – chasing my own tail! I haven’t been creative for many years – and then the world stopped in 2020.

It was the chance for me to start living the way I always wanted to, but never had the time for. I made a return to art and started to wake myself up. I began working with watercolours, alcohol ink, acrylic, oil, pastels, charcoal, and more. I am exploring all mediums and subjects as I look for my artistic style, and voice… the silent voice of my soul, which wants to speak out through colours and shapes. The voice which will reach from my heart to your heart.

I believe that silent conversation is more profound than spoken words. Every single piece of my art is a part of me. My heart and my soul.

Thank you for your time reading these few words about me. I hope you will find some joy or more in my art. Please visit my Instagram page.
