Rue Stanley

Rue Stanley explores a surrealist world, creating contemporary, often conceptual Fine Art. Rue has cultivated her distinctive style through a captivating blend of inspiration, experimentation, and passion. Her work is luscious, vibrant and sculptural. Everything is tangible and tactile. it is her rebellion against the digital world in which she spent most of her working life. Her unique style emerges from dreams, experimentation, and a love for texture. Rue’s art bridges reality and imagination, inviting us to explore the extraordinary.

Whimsy and Surrealism:  Rue draws her inspiration from the unusual and sometimes humorous aspect of life. Rue’s art defies conventional boundaries. It dances between surrealist abstraction and storytelling. Her new collection “The Music of life” is inspired by both the music that she listens to everyday working in her studio and the natural world. “Banana Philosophy” is semi-humorous, sometimes inspiring and ironic. Birdwings and the natural world provide a framework onto which she can hang colour and luxuriate in texture. Regarding her series of work entitled “Enjoy yourself, it’s later than you think”- Rue asks you for your own reflections.

Only best materials: Rue thrives on pushing artistic limits. She is a perpetual explorer, constantly seeking new materials and surfaces of the highest quality and made to exacting standard that will last the test of time. Her latest artworks use a variety of archival quality, acrylic mixed media, glass beads, silver or gold metal leaf on gold or silver aluminium panels. Her spirit of adventure infuses her art with freshness and unpredictability.

Rue exhibits with Fist For Art, 3 times a year and other venues in Surrey. She is an arts organiser and has created several exhibitions for local artists. In 2022, Rue’s work was featured with a 3-page spread in Surrey Life Magazine.
