Robert Hay was born in London in 1937. Although encouraged to paint and draw by his mother, who was a professional artist, he received no formal training and did not begin to exhibit until the 1980s.
The sky is often prominent in his work, with the effect of light on land and cityscapes creating paintings that are always of mood and atmosphere rather than simply pictures of places.
His work has been exhibited with:-
The Royal Academy
Royal Society of British Artists
Royal Society of Marine Artists
Royal Watercolour Society
